Portable and Wheeled Fire Extinguisher Untitled1Servicing

To ensure your fire extinguishers are in good condition and easily accessible, they should;

  • Be hung on the wall between 1.0m and 1.2m and should be unobstructed.
  • Be identified by a fire extinguisher sign written in English and Khmer.
  • Be serviced every 6 months, with records kept.
  • Have operating instruction on the front of the fire extinguisher.
  • Be serviced, refilled, or possible replaced after use.

FIRESAFE has invested in a full range of professional testing and servicing equipment and can offers the Untitled3following servicing package for fire extinguishers which is in accordance with AS 1851-2012 Section 10.

6 MONTHLY SERVICING

This must occur once per year, opposite to the Annual Servicing. (example 6 monthly servicing in January each year and annual servicing in July each year).

FIRESAFE conducts our fire extinguisher servicing in accordance with Australian Standards 1851:2005, Tables 15.4.1, 15.4.2, and 15.4.3.

As part of the 6 Monthly Service fire extinguishers will be;

  • Inspected to ensure they are correctly hung.
  • Inspected for visible damage or deterioration to ensure they are in good physical condition.
  • Inspected to ensure instruction label is readable and clear.
  • Inspected to ensure pressure gauge displays correct charge and is not damaged.
  • Inspected to ensure anti tamper seal is in place.
  • Inspection of safety pin.
  • Inspection of signage.
  • Check for free movement of Dry Powder.
  • Cleaned to ensure longevity of fire blanket.
  • Taged and stamped.

A comprehensive log of testing should be kept to ensure faults can be monitored and rectified.

ANNUAL SERVICING

This must occur once per year, opposite to the 6 Monthly Servicing. (example 6 monthly servicing in January each year and annual servicing in July each year).

As part of the 6 Monthly Service fire extinguishers will be;

5 YEARLY OR AFTER USE SERVICING – HYDROSTATIC TEST

This must occur within 5 years of the date of manufacture or previous hydrostatic test. Fire Extinguisher will need to be removed and tested at FIRESAFEs Service Centre.

As part of the 5 Yearly Service fire extinguishers will be;

  • Emptied and powder inspected.
  • Internally and externally inspected for visible damage or deterioration to ensure they are in good physical condition.
  • Inspected to ensure instruction label is readable and clear.
  • Replace all O rings and perishable seals.
  • Hydrostatically tested to ensure no pressure leaks.
  • Clean and inspect all components of extinguisher.
  • Refilled and reassembled.
  • Repressurised with Nitrogen gas.
  • Replace safety pin and anti tamper seal.
  • Taged and stamped.
  • Weighed for correct volume of extinguishing product.
  • If extinguisher has been used or powder is not in good condition replacement of powder will be an additional cost to the client.
